FOOD SECURITY
"Food security" is a term that refers to the state in which all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
It’s often broken down into four key dimensions:
  • Availability – Is enough food being produced and supplied?

  • Access – Do people have the resources (money, transport, infrastructure) to get it?

  • Utilization – Are people able to properly consume and absorb nutrients (depends on health, sanitation, etc.)?

  • Stability – Are food supplies and access reliable over time (considering conflict, climate change, price volatility)?
